What’s Happening at Red Hat – April 2026

Hello Red Hat Enthusiasts

Just a few days ago, Gov. Newsom’s signing of a “one of a kind” executive order shows continued momentum behind California’s use of generative AI in government services, including work on tools that help residents navigate programs and benefits, while adding stronger expectations for oversight and accountability. In practical terms, California is signaling that successful AI adoption will depend not just on models, but on the underlying platform, governance, and operational discipline required to run AI responsibly at scale. As you guessed it, that’s where Red Hat comes in. Read on for the latest on Red Hat AI and some tools to get you started.

Where Can I Deploy My AI Workloads?
Enterprise AI is all about integrating AI and machine learning into large scale business operations. We’re talking about putting capabilities that can work across teams, apps, and environments. This equals a complete package. It goes without saying that enterprises are leaning on both generative AI and predictive AI to improve efficiency and tackle complex problems faster. For the State of CA, you can see that a number of agencies have been working on AI integration to help user experience. List of AI Projects

A key concept is inference. There’s no AI without inference, and when larger models are involved, the supporting hardware/software (and inference servers) can make or break the strategy. Enterprises are looking for approaches like distributed inference and tooling such as vLLM to help use compute resources more efficiently at scale.
