This “How To” is focusing on removing the Special Offers on the Kindle Fire HD when you’ve tried the Amazon written articles and paid the $15 fee to have the ads removed. I paid the fee, turned off all the settings to have it stop and the ads kept showing on the Lock Screen. Working with support resulted in the request to Factory Reset the Kindle Device. I was able to fix the problem with these steps.
- Log into your Amazon account.
- Go to Manage Your Content and Devices.
- Select your device.
- Under “Details” you should see Special Offers and in orange it shows “Turned Off“.
- Click “Sign up for offers” (yes turn it back on).
- Restart your Kindle Fire HD
- Go back to the Amazon device setting web page and click “Turn off Special Offers”.
- Restart your Kindle Fire HD
The above fixed my issues with Special Offers appearing on the Lock Screen even though I turned them off and tried everything thing I could find on the web as well and opening a chat with Amazon Support.
