What’s Happening @ Red Hat – May 2021

Hello fellow Red Hatter’s. Summer is just around the corner and that means Red Hat Summit part 2 (June 15) and Ansible Automates (June 29) is here. Sign up for both now, and if you missed part 1 of Summit you can go back and watch the recorded content as well. 

We’ve got some announcements around Satellite/Insights, OpenShift Dedicated along with June’s listing of available workshops, so keep reading and let me know if you have questions on anything. 

Red Hat Satellite 6.9 is now GA
And for the love of all things AWESOME and included, start using Insights!
If you are not using Satellite AND Insights then you are spending too much time doing manual work AND not getting notifications on security patches, automating the application of those patches and many more ways to save a boatload of time. At minimum! WHAT’S AVAILABLE IN SATELLITE 6.9:
The release of Red Hat Satellite 6.9 includes a number of new and updated features to help organizations streamline management and automation, along with continued improvements in performance and user experience.  Satellite 6.9 ships with a number of features in support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux management including:

  • Simple Content Access by Default on New Installs
  • Insights Enablement by Default on New Installs
  • Satellite Simplification Including Auto Configuration of Remote Execution and Task Cleanup on Upgrade
  • Security Enhancements
  • Performance Improvements
